2006 starts with news: Everyone from all over the world can apply for the
Szpilman Award! 'I want that fucking trophy' is written in a blog. Another
press release recommends: 'Unser Lieblingspreis! Mitmachen!'. As last year
the annual meeting takes place in a private house on the countryside, this time
near Mainz close to river Rhine. 358 participants keep the members of the
jury really busy, so after three days it is in need of a second session to select
the best four and call the winner: It's Martin Flemming from Germany! One
month later follows a second new feature: Szpilman Award goes public. A one-
day-exhibition opens in Dusseldorf at Nüans gallery, presenting best of 2006.
